An August Update

Hello to the loyal VEDlog readers. I know it's been quite a while since anyone has updated; but here is a little snippet of updates of what the three girls are up to. Perhaps one day I'll do one about Brad and myself; but it's not likely to come any time soon. To spice things up, I think I'll start with the youngest.

Announcing Sydney

It may be a little late, but I thought I would update those that are not aware of the fact that Sydney Grace was born on June 4th. She weighed in at a healthy 8lbs 5.5oz and was 21 inches long. A Proper Ode

I wanted to write an ode (to my van), so I did some research and found the proper stanza construction [ababcdecde].  Let me just say that rhyming lines not directly next to each other is harder than I thought.  So, without further ado, my ode.

An Ode to a KIA Van.

Today I have rented from Enterprise, a lovely sedan;
It's white, and it's small, 4 doors and a trunk.

It has given me a new appreciation for my KIA van;
And anyone who thinks they're the same, well that's just bunk.

Under the conditions of the roads: they're snowy, slippery, and slick;
The half-ton car I've borrowed gets no traction at all;
I've spun my tires, skidded off to the side, and it takes forever to go.

Besides transferring kids in and out of car seats is anything but quick;
The kids' car seats are so close , they can hold hands, so needless to say it's quite small.
So, let me just say that I'll stick with my van when it comes to my kids and this snow.

So, there you go.  It's my ode, and I hope you liked it.
